You receive an email stating your account is past due and you should pay immediately using a prepaid credit card, wire transfer or another specific form of payment such as PayPal, Venmo or Zelle. Is this email naughty or nice?

We can tell you if we’ve tried to call you. We can also tell you what your account balance is and when your next payment is due. You may also view your account balance and due date by logging into your account through our mobile app or at AEPOhio.com/Account.

Guard your personal information carefully, and remember that we never ask customers for prepaid debit cards for payment.

Criminals’ tactics are becoming increasingly sophisticated and tend to intensify during the holiday season. These repeat naughty-listers typically attempt to steal money by phone or in person, but be on the lookout for falsified mail and email as well.

  1. Scammers prey upon seniors. Scammers are pros at deception. If only scammers would do honest work, this would not happen. However we live in a nation that has pushed God out of public places, especially out of our present scamming government. Thank you for your attempt to make your customers aware of the work of scammers as well as your efforts to squelch this dishonesty prevalent today. Merry Christmas and Blessings this coming New Year!

  2. Got me on one so I guess I am doing good. I do not use twitter but good to know. Will review this one and make a note of it and the correct answer. Thanks for the quiz.
