No child should go hungry, but the United Way of Ross County says food insecurity continues to affect many local famlies, even though 43% of Ross County residents receive SNAP benefits. United Way is helping provide weekend meals for 200 local students each week through the Mighty Active Pack Program. The AEP Ohio Foundation recently gave a $10,000 grant to help make sure every child gets a meal.

“When partners invest in our work, it lifts the entire network of services families rely on. We are grateful for AEP’s commitment to community, collaboration, and the well‑being of Ross County kids,” United Way of Ross County shared on Facebook.

The support goes beyond donations. AEP Ohio employees also joined United Way of Ross County’s Stamp Out Hunger food drive, helping collect food for local pantries.

“While Stamp Out Hunger is a nationwide event, our efforts remained focused locally, with all donations collected supporting food pantries and blessing boxes throughout Ross County,” said AEP Ohio Business Service Account Manager, Leanna Cargo.
