The exhibit highlights key artifacts that tell the rich and diverse story of the African American experience and has been traveling the country since it was created in 2016.

As part of our celebration of Black History Month, AEP’s Black Employee Resource Group (BERG) is sponsoring a poster exhibit in central Ohio. “A Place for All People: Introducing the National Museum of African American History and Culture” is organized by the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service in collaboration with the Museum. The exhibit highlights key artifacts that tell the rich and diverse story of the African American experience and has been traveling the country since it was created in 2016. Now, for the first time, it’s making a stop at AEP Ohio!

“The poster exhibit is an example of one of the ways AEP fosters cultural awareness and promotes an inclusive work environment,” said BERG Co-Chair Checobia Crawford. “It’s a great way to incorporate diverse perspectives and allow for conversations that help build empathy and bridge the gaps in understanding. ‘A Place for All People’ is a reminder of not just the history of Black culture but of American history as well.”

The exhibit aligns with BERG’s Black History Month theme of “Journey Through Creativity: Celebrating Blacks in the Arts & Their Impact.
