From trunk-or-treats and fall festivals to pumpkin drops and community celebrations, Ohio Power Company employees spent October connecting with customers across our service territory. Whether handing out candy, sharing safety tips or bringing a few smiles to local events, our teams were proud to be part of the fun in the communities we serve.

Across central, northern and southern Ohio, hundreds of children stopped by our booths and bucket trucks to show off their costumes and collect treats. Employees participated in events in Columbus, Newark, Tiffin, Lima, Lancaster and Vinton County, where families enjoyed everything from community festivals to trunk-or-treat celebrations.

“We had a fun night in McArthur at their Trunk or Treat event at the Vinton County fairgrounds. There were easily 500 kids in attendance! My son joined me to pass out candy,” said Leanna Crago, Ohio Power business services account manager. “Lots of good costumes — a couple pretty good Michael Jacksons that stand out to me. The car beside us had two of those 8-foot skeleton statues and they were a huge hit with everyone!”

Louie the Lightning Bug even made a few appearances, becoming a favorite photo opportunity for young trick-or-treaters.

While our “boo crews” were supporting local Halloween events, our lineworkers and field employees continued their important work behind the scenes, making equipment upgrades and staying ready to respond to outages. It’s all part of our commitment to powering the moments that matter and being an active partner in the communities we call home.
