During AEP Ohio’s Week of Service, our team found even more ways to support the communities we call home. One project brought volunteers to the Allen County Fairgrounds, where crews used their expertise to complete much-needed electrical improvements, including replacing aging power poles and upgrading electrical connections throughout the campground.

“Having their line trucks out here and their crews to help us make repairs and improvements to the property that have needed done for years is super helpful to us, especially from a financial perspective,” said Allen County Fairgrounds Manager Troy Elwer. “So having partners like AEP be able to step up and make things happen is something we’re very appreciative for.”

Week of Service projects also included blood drives, park cleanups, activities at local fairs and other volunteer opportunities across AEP Ohio’s service territory.
Giving back goes beyond volunteer projects. The AEP Ohio Foundation recently awarded grants to 20 schools across northern Ohio to support school-based food pantries, care closets and student resource centers, helping students access essential resources so they can focus on learning. One of those schools in Bucyrus recently shared a heartfelt thank-you card with the Foundation, a reminder of the impact these grants can have on students and families.
