Earlier this year, members of AEP Ohio’s customer service team helped Habitat for Humanity of Southeast Ohio build its 100th house in the community. Recently, they were back at it again, assisting the organization with its newest build in Lancaster.

AEP Ohio customer service account representative Brandy Marshall is based in Lancaster and is in regular contact with Habitat’s community outreach coordinator. She learned the team was planning their first build in the area in five years—a house for single mom Toni Gardner and her children—and quickly signed her team up.

Customer and external affairs manager Anthony DeBord, customer account manager John Rhoads and customer service account representatives Jennifer Wilfong and Kelly Puffer visited the site together for a day of construction work.

“It was a lot of fun,” Brandy said. “It’s been really nice to get out and do things together with my coworkers in the community where many of us live and work.”

Thanks to the hard work of Brandy and her team and other local volunteers, Toni and her family should move into their new home later this year.

  1. Is there anyway I can volunteer to help with your projects? If so. I would love to help. I know how to use a hammer and tools. Am retired and live in Logan
