Our top priority is the health and safety of our employees, their families and our communities. We have taken significant actions, as ordered by the Ohio Department of Health and recommended by the CDC, to help protect our employees and maintain reliable service for our customers. We’ll continue to adjust our response as this situation evolves.

We understand the critical need to keep the power flowing to homes and businesses across Ohio. Our lineworkers and other employees critical to maintaining service are working in smaller teams, adjusting work schedules, practicing social distancing, monitoring themselves for any symptoms and taking other prevention measures recommended by the CDC. All employees who can are working from home to help prevent the spread of the virus.

While our employees continue working to keep the power flowing and limit their potential exposure, we ask customers to keep at least 6 feet of physical distance for your safety and ours.

  1. Are employees supposed to be bringing home bucket trucks during non working hours? Our HOA has restrictions on the parking of commercial vehicles and they are not allowed. Your employee says they have to because if there is an outage they have to be immediately be dispatched, don’t you have people on the clock 24/7 anyhow. They didn’t bring it home before but are now.

    1. That’s a good question, Doug. We’d like to look into it more closely. Please email the address where this is happening to help@aep.com and we’ll send the message to that area’s distribution system supervisor. Thanks for alerting us.

    1. Hi Mahamat. Sorry to hear this. If you need help with paying your bill please call us right away at 800-672-2231 so we can try to come up with a plan for you.

  2. I’m currently in a nursing and rehabilitation center. I’ve got Discitis Osteomyelitis which is a infection of the bone. I need IV Therapy for this condition for 6 weeks and I’m not eligible to return home until, at least, December 7th.
While here I contracted COVID-19 and am not sure when I’ll be released.
Please send a duplicate bill to the new address.
