Administered by Dollar Energy fund, the program provides eligible customers with a utility assistance grant applied directly to their bill. Is AMP the budget method. I believe I’m on a budget plan
Hey Rich. The AMP plan spreads the costs of heating and cooling over the whole year, which makes budgeting easier. It means you pay roughly the same amount during really cold months and really hot months as you pay during the rest of the year.
Is the AMP the same as being on a budget with AEP?
Good question, Elaine. Our Average Monthly Payment (AMP) plan spreads the costs of heating and cooling over the whole year. Unlike the Budget Plan, there’s no “settle-up” month, making AMP a compelling alternative for some customers.

Is it possible to figure cost per kilowat hour with all charges of transport etc ?
Hi Tim,
The total bill cost per kWh can be found within AEP Ohio’s bill calculation spreadsheet. To come up with the figure, simply add in the usage parameters to the customer info tab and the customer tabs will populate.
