AEP Ohio maintains power lines and equipment and delivers energy to your home. But you may have the opportunity to choose the company that generates your electricity. Just as you shop for other products and services, you can shop for your energy supplier, too. This freedom lets you choose from among a diverse group of competitive suppliers that are certified by the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio.

But remember, suppliers charge varying rates so customers who select other companies to supply their power through our lines will pay different monthly amounts.

Page 3 of your bill has details on choosing who generates your power, as does AEPOhio.com.

  1. I live in Ross County/Chillicothe. How did I become a customer of a different supplier and how do I drop them and become an AEP only customer? If possible, please provide me the information to do so.
    Thank you!

    1. Hi Kristina, your area may have been part of an aggregation, which you can learn more about here. If you give our Customer Solutions team a call at 800-672-2231, they can pull up your account and take a look.
