When severe weather strikes, we’re ready to respond. But it’s not just the lineworkers who you see working in the field. There’s an entire team working tirelessly toward restoring your power.

There are customer service representatives in the call center, the people who gather the supplies for our crews, those who arrange lodging and food, the schedulers and coordinators, the meter electricians and countless others.

It’s all about teamwork. Take a quick peek at some of critical work happening behind the scenes to get the power back on after a major storm.

  1. We were without power for 7 days total in February. Could not be more grateful for the work of AEP Ohio and ALL who came from out of town to help restore our electricity after the ice storms. They worked in horrific conditions and extreme cold to remove broken limbs and fallen trees…so that they could then restore and repair downed lines. THANK YOU!

  2. In 2019 & 2020 ~ I saw LOTS of Tree Pruning to reduce risks of potential line damage in wind & storms ~ since then rare Outages. Thank You AEP !

    1. Thanks Sharon. We’re so happy to hear that you are seeing the positive results from our Tree Trimming Program.

  3. So thankful for the men and women who work day and night to restore our power. They certainly have our respect!

  4. Thank you for your work which can be hard, dangerous, cold, wet, hot and miserable. It is appreciated. Many a winter, I have watched the electric line covered with ice and prayed that it would hold. Knowing that someone out there would come to fix it was a comfort but knowing the conditions that they faced was fearful. You are appreciated, just as the fire and police are.
