Our work begins well before a storm starts as we track incoming weather to keep a close eye on parts of our service territory that may be impacted. After a storm hits, we assess the damage and determine staffing needs— sometimes coordinating crews from other parts of Ohio and other states to help with restoration efforts.

When major storms damage power lines, we work to return power to the greatest number of customers as quickly, safely and efficiently as possible.

We work hard to keep you in the know when it comes to restoration times and updates on power. Sign up for alerts at AEPOhio.com/Alerts to receive email and text messages with important outage information and updates.

    1. Hi Susan. Thanks for your question. Yes, we had forestry crews in the Hilliard area to trim and clear trees around our power lines and equipment. This continued maintenance work was critical for keeping your power on. We apologize if it caused an inconvenience for you.
