We’re proud to provide electricity to customers and businesses in cities and towns across Ohio all year long. And we especially love partnering with communities and organizations on their holiday light displays! This year, we were proud to sponsor several across the state:

  • AEP Ohio was the named prime sponsor for the city of Canton’s Light Up Downtown event. AEP Ohio’s support enabled the return of the ceremonial Christmas tree lighting after a 10-year absence. In addition to the tree lighting, there were visits with Santa; glove, mittens and scarf giveaways; and spectacular stage shows throughout the night.
  • AEP Ohio provided and hung all the lights for Huckleberry House’s annual Light Up the House event. Huckleberry House provides shelter, support and guidance to young people across central Ohio facing difficult situations.
  • The AEP Foundation supported the Portsmouth Main Street holiday lights display, providing assistance for repairs, maintenance and to allow the community to offer free admission.
  • And of course, we are proud that this is our 15th year efficiently powering Wildlights at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, a family-favorite tradition featuring displays made from millions of LED lights.

From our families to yours, we wish you a safe, healthy and happy holiday season.

  1. This is simply beautiful. It’s the prettiest of light decorations ever. I bet HEAVEN is just as beautiful if not more so. Thanks for sharing the photos. I LOVE IT. Nothing else compares.

  2. Hi,
I volunteer with the Lake of Lights, a non-profit charity organization the puts on an annual Christmas Celebration of Lights and Sound in Kenton, Ohio that benefits the area and the non-profit groups that volunteer their time to make the event happen. How can we apply to be considered for AEP sponsorship to improve our display and event? Thank you!

    1. Hi George, thanks for the message. A member of our external affairs team will be reaching out to you. Keep an eye out for an email. Happy holidays!
