Emergencies often strike without warning. Whether it’s a storm, a power outage or another unexpected event, being prepared can make all the difference. Dave Gray, AEP Ohio’s emergency preparedness manager, recently shared a few simple steps you can take to protect yourself and your loved ones.

Things to keep in mind

  • Make a plan: Know how to communicate with and where to meet your loved ones.
  • Build a kit: Stock up on essentials like water, non-perishable food and first aid supplies.
  • Stay informed: Check or update your contact information at AEPOhio.com/Alerts and sign up for text or email notifications so you stay in the know during power outages.
