We know many in your community were impacted by the winter storm that hit last week — icy conditions brought down trees and power lines throughout the area. We truly appreciated your patience and understanding as we worked to get your power restored as quickly as we safely could.

After the storm hit, our crews quickly jumped into action to assess the damage to our equipment and determine the resources needed to make repairs. In hard to reach areas, we utilized drones and helicopters to get a better look at the damage caused by the storm. Our forestry team also removed downed trees and cleared the way for our lineworkers to restore power. Across the state, we replaced more than 120 poles and restrung over 1,800 spans of electric wire.

For those directly impacted by the storm, we know it wasn’t easy to be without power, especially with the cold temperatures. For those the storm spared, thank you for your words of encouragement. Our community is stronger together and we’re proud to be a part of yours.

Below is a snapshot of the work completed in your area to get the power back up and running:

  1. We kept power during the big storm, but lost power along with 47 other folks at 4:09 this morn. Reported the outage and was advised repair by 8:30 this morn. Well the crew got us back up by 6:30. Nice work! Stay safe out there.

  2. Even though where I live in Chillicothe, I didn’t experience any power outage during the winter storm. I want to thank you for all the work you’ve done to restoring the power outage in Ross County. I know what it’s like to work out doors during the extreme below zero cold. It takes a special kind of person to work in that type environment. Thank you guys for the work your doing.
