When a tree from outside our right-of-way fell onto our equipment and knocked out power to more than 5,300 people in Gahanna and surrounding areas last month, our crews sprang into action. Working in tandem with our contract tree crews, several line teams worked safely and as quickly as possible to remove the tree, repair or replace damaged equipment and get the lights back on.
Fallen trees and branches are one of the top causes of power outages. One tree limb can knock out power to thousands of customers. That’s why our crews work hard year-round to keep trees and branches away from our distribution power lines and equipment. Learn more at AEPOhio.com/Trees.
