At AEP Ohio, our commitment goes beyond powering homes and businesses. We live here. We work here. And we show up for our communities — every single day.
Across 61 counties in Ohio, we invest in the people and places we serve. Our teams volunteer their time, support local organizations and help build stronger, more connected communities.
Inspiring the Next Generation
This March, teams across our footprint spent time to connect with students, share what’s possible in the energy industry — and maybe inspire them to work for AEP Ohio one day.
Here’s where we made an impact:
- Waverly High School Career Fair (Pike County)
- Alexander Local Schools Career Fair (Athens County)
- Fairfield County Workforce Career Expo
- University of Rio Grande Career Fair (Gallia County)
- JA Inspire Career Fair (Columbus and Canton)
- Future Pathways Expo at New Lexington High School (Perry County)
- Columbus Metro Library

Real Conversations. Real Impact.
“We had great conversations with students about the many career paths at AEP Ohio,” Business Services Account Manager Andrea Whaley said. “They asked thoughtful questions and were eager to learn what a future in energy could look like.”
At Alexander Local School District, students experienced the industry up close. They explored line trucks, saw drone technology in action and learned about careers across multiple teams.

At the Fairfield County Workforce Career Expo, the energy and excitement continued.
“More than 300 high school students showed up and the level of interest was incredible,” Business Services Account Manager Brandy Marshall said. “We shared career resources, talked through our apprenticeship program and had meaningful one-on-one conversations.”
The Central Ohio team participated at the JA Inspire event, which is an interactive experience. This year, hundreds of high school students from across the area attended.
“JA Inspire is more than a career fair; it introduces students to diverse career pathways and helps launch them into their future—high school, college, careers, and beyond,” Angie Rybalt, director of customer experience for the Ohio region, said.
Why It Matters
These moments go beyond career exploration. They’re about:
- Building confidence
- Opening doors
- Creating pathways to opportunity
When students can see themselves in these roles, it changes what they believe is possible.
And when that happens, entire communities grow stronger.
