AEP Ohio is committed to improving reliability in Gahanna. Through inspections and new installations, our crews have taken many steps to ensure fewer power outages and faster restoration times when they do happen. Watch the video below and read on to learn more.
By the Numbers

This year alone in Gahanna, our crews have:
- Inspected more than 60 miles of electric lines.
- Put up 100 new electric poles.
- Installed over 200 new pieces of electrical equipment like:
- Cutouts, which disconnect faulty or overloaded lines to protect other equipment.
- Reclosers, which can restore power after temporary interruption.
- Crossarms, which help support wires on poles.
- Continued forestry work to trim and remove trees that are at risk of causing outages.
Ongoing Efforts
These improvements are in addition to our ongoing work to boost reliability. Whether through drones to streamline our power line inspections or preparation for storms, we’re moving toward a more reliable energy future.
