Fallen trees and branches are one of the most common causes of power outages. Interfering limbs can also slow down our crews working to get the power back on following an outage.

Over the next several weeks there will be a concentrated effort to proactively trim and clear trees around high-voltage transmission lines to help prevent future tree-related outages. Extreme heat and severe weather conditions – including high winds like we experienced last week – can cause trees to contact lines causing outages.

As an AEP Ohio customer what should I expect?

Property owners affected by the tree trimming efforts will receive a knock on the door and a door hanger with more information on what to expect, including contact information for any questions. Following trimming and clearing, tree debris will be picked-up over the next several weeks.

Thank you for your support as we work to complete this important work to help keep your power on.
