AEP Ohio is committed to the communities it serves – not only through providing electricity, but through volunteer efforts and philanthropic giving.

This spring, the AEP Foundation delivered $50,000 in funding to several organizations in Chillicothe, including:

  • Good Samaritan Network Ross County
  • Ross County Community Action
  • Ross County United Way

Those gifts follow an additional $43,000 the AEP Foundation donated to organizations across southern Ohio earlier this year, including:

  • Adams County Ohio Valley Schools STEM Maker Space Lab
  • Adams County Public Library
  • Adams Brown County Shelter for the Homeless
  • Freestore Foodbank
  • a non-profit that helps with the beautification and preservation of Downtown Portsmouth.

Additionally, AEP Ohio employees from the Chillicothe Service Center participated in a STEAM Career Day event at Western Local Schools in Pike County. It was a fantastic opportunity for students of all ages to engage with the AEP Ohio team and learn more about the career paths and services we provide.

“These moments of connection and support are just a few examples of how we strive to make a difference in the communities we serve,” said AEP Ohio External Affairs Manager Melissa Clark. “We believe that investing in our community is essential, and we are proud to support initiatives that align with this mission.”

AEP Ohio also donated eight spools to the Scioto County Dog Shelter earlier this year to create a play area for sheltered dogs as they await their forever homes.

“At the end of the day, we work here, but we also live here, and we are committed to seeing our communities thrive,” Clark said. “These moments of connection and support exemplify our ongoing efforts to make a difference where it matters most.”
