Did you know that small businesses spend more than $60 billion each year on energy expenses? Just a few minor updates can help you become more energy efficient and save. AEP Ohio’s Small Business Express Program makes it easier than ever to take on energy efficient projects.

Businesses can become more energy efficient simply by upgrading interior and exterior lighting systems — often the largest contributor of electricity consumption for businesses. By switching to ENERGY STAR® certified LED lighting, you can reduce energy consumption and improve your bottom line. AEP Ohio may cover up to 80 percent of the project cost for energy efficient lighting upgrades for eligible small businesses with an annual usage of less than 200,000 kWh.

Replacing old lighting with LEDs helps make your business brighter, safer and more inviting. Some studies suggest that lighting upgrades — like swapping out dim, harsh lighting with LED smart bulbs that mimic outside lighting — are an easy way to boost employee productivity.

A free onsite energy assessment through the Express Program will leave you with a list of recommended energy saving improvements, plus a proposal listing the total project cost and estimated annual energy savings. Interest-free 12-month financing is available for qualifying businesses.

Ready to get started? For more info on lighting discounts available to you through AEP Ohio’s Small Business Express Program or to schedule your free assessment, call 855-546-3644.
